SUMMARY OF PACKAGING TECHNICIAN:
National Food Manufacturing company in Covington, KY is offering a Career opportunity to an experienced Packaging Technician who will be responsible for maintaining company assets by applying proper repairs/procedures/PM’s to Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, and Packaging Machine Systems
REQUIREMENTS OF PACKAGING TECHNICIAN:
• Able to read electrical and electronic schematics and perform repairs, use of an electrical meter or basic electrical AC/DC, single phase and three-phase from 480 to 24 volts
• Able to read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and perform repairs
• At least two years in Industrial Maintenance
• Welding a plus
• Knowledge and experience with PLCs
• Computer skills using word, excel, and maintenance software to create work orders, repair parts list, equipment repairs and PMs.
• Understanding of the VFD’s
• Understanding of Servo Systems
RESPONSIBILITIES OF PACKAGING TECHNICIAN:
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Conserves maintenance Force Staffing Servicess by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment. Engineering Specifications; Troubleshooting Malfunctions.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, Schematics, work orders, PM’s and Scheduled Tasks to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain department tooling per OSHA, tooling must always be in proper order
• Check out parts accordingly, create parts request accordingly.
• Work order entry per requirements of the Department manager.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
SCHEDULE & PAY RATE OF PACKAGING TECHNICIAN:
• Night Shift: 4:30 pm - 1:00 am
• $20-$30 / hour, depending on experience
