JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) functions under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
(RN). The LVN provides nursing care to patients of all ages; from pediatric to geriatric, within the LVN
scope of practices – as delegated by the RN.
QUALIFICATIONS OF LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE:
• Must have completed post-secondary education coursework to facilitate licensure as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
• Must be a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State of California
• Attainment of 18 years of age
• Will complete YSIS training within 1 month of hire or before working with individuals in the home.
• Fingerprint cleared prior to working with residents/facility.
• Back ground screened before working with individuals in the home.
• Must obtain and maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR, including training of abdominal thrust technique prior to working with people in the home.
• LVNs/LPTs must be in good physical health which shall be verified by a health screening, including a test for tuberculosis, performed by or under the supervision of a physician not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment or licensure.
• Must complete medication administration training
RESPONSIBILITIES OF LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE:
• Regularly attends and actively participates in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings.
• Makes recommendations for nursing objectives/criteria to address needs identified through comprehensive nursing assessment.
• Works closely with other health professionals/providers in planning, evaluating and implementing programs and services to address the health needs of persons served.
• Completes nursing assignments as assigned within 30 days of admission and annually thereafter to include: review of drug regime, physical exams, health status/condition, lab reports, immunizations, etc.
• Ensures the provisions of nursing/health services as outlined in the state and federal regulations and divisional directives.
• Ensures the provision of nursing/health services as ordered by physicians and other health professionals/consultants.
• Monitors incidents involving individuals, ensures incident report is completed timely and accurately and examines the individual.
• Works closely with home/facility staff in consulting on psychotropic medications, side effects, and planning agenda for medication reviews.
• Monitors height and weight of persons served.

2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$22.00
