SUMMARY OF HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST:
Manufacturing facility in McAllen, TX, is offering career opportunities to an experienced HUMAN RESOURCES Specialist
REQUIREMENTS OF HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST:
• Bilingual in English AND Spanish - must be able to read, write and speak both languages fluently.
• BA/BS in HR or related field preferred, and/or 5+ years’ experience in a HUMAN RESOURCES position - preferably within a manufacturing setting.
• 3-5 years HR experience in manufacturing
• HRIS background with ability to navigate proficiently through various HUMAN RESOURCES systems.
• Computer skills including expert competency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint
• Strong analytical, oral/written communication, problem solving, and research/investigation skills.
• Appropriate handling of confidential information.
• Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent time management skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST:
• Supports a group of 100+ employees.
• Provides functional/operational HUMAN RESOURCES guidance through planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the HUMAN RESOURCES department in support of the assigned client group.
• Serves as functional Force Staffing Services for employee base, ensuring their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations.
• Keeps management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate.
• Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of client group in relation to established goals.
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continual improvement.
• Plans, organizes, and manages all activities of the HR department.
• Participates in the development and implementation of client group's goals, objectives and systems.
• Manages recruitment effort for all exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees; monitor recruitment program; employee relations counseling; performance planning.
• Manages/maintains records related to same.
• Manages and maintains department records and reports.
• Actively participates in client group and HR projects and meetings.
• May manage vendor relationships.
• Follows all Company established rules and policies.
• Adheres to all Safety rules and regulations.
• Ensure activities follow all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO and FLSA).
• Manage the coordination and presentation of annual open enrollment.
• Administer FMLA, STD, Workers’ Compensation and Return-to-Work processes.
• Stay current with legislation concerning payroll.
• Manage FMLA/LOA’s
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• PHR certification
• Titan software experience
• Kronos timekeeping experience
• Success Factors software experience
SCHEDULE AND PAY RATE OF HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST:
• Monday - Friday
• 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
• $17.00 - $19.00 / hourly
