SUMMARY OF FORMULA TECHNICAL WRITER:
National food manufacturing company is offering career opportunities to a Formula Technical Writer. Position will support a business integration project, focusing on the data collection and development of packaging specifications, formula builds and other consumer product standards residing in a Technical Information Management System known as Optiva.
REQUIREMENTS OF FORMULA TECHNICAL WRITER:
• Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Information Systems, or similar.
• Strong computer skills including fluency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and database management.
• Typically has 2 to 4 years of formula, database/ information management systems usage and/or business experience with ingredient, formula and process.
• Excellent written, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to leverage system knowledge to organize and streamline different types of technical documentation business processes for enhanced efficiency.
• Excellent at information collection and documentation.
• Technical knowledge base of food principles from lab to plant scale-up with some ability to apply that knowledge to formulations, manufacturing and finished product specifications, a plus.
• Knowledge of commercial food manufacturing systems
• Detail oriented with the ability to multitask.
• Reliable transportation

RESPONSIBILITIES OF FORMULA TECHNICAL WRITER:
• Systematic build of formulas, procedures and specifications in the Management system as required to ensure that products can be manufactured properly and according to specifications and can integrate with SAP and plant floor systems.
• Review all documents, translate manufacturing formula into a Corp R+D PLM format
• Ensure all technical documentation is bundled to deliver the full manufacturing requirements: formula, procedure, specifications and some packaging requirements.
• Utilize SAP ERP system to review and confirm manufacturing product formulations to ensure proper data continuity.
• Support the versioning and obsolescence of product documentation
• Work closely with other technical writers on the PDM team to adjust priorities and workload as needed to meet project timelines.
• Track progress of all workflow activities
• Analyze data in various formats and translate into specification documents and data standards.
• Validate formula builds match what facility is manufacturing.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts on technical parameters and specifications.
• Exceptional organizational skills and maintenance for tracking and communication.
SCHEDULE & PAY RATE OF FORMULA TECHNICAL WRITER:
• $30.00 - 45.00, depending on experience
• Monday - Friday
