SUMMARY FOR PAYROLL COORDINATOR:
Excellent opportunity in Las Vegas, NV. Looking for team members who can dream up the impossible and deliver it. The Payroll Coordinator position requires a person who is very organized and great in prioritizing, organizing and planning in order to see each job through completion and be able to meet given deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PAYROLL COORDINATOR
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Any knowledge or experience with KRONOS is a plus.
• Three to five years multi-state payroll experience.
• Three to five years’ experience working in a customer support role using call management software.
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of payroll processes and systems, particularly in a union environment.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations.
• MS Office and computer skills. - Excellent organizational, reading, listening, interpretation, verbal and written skills are necessary.
• High degree of professionalism and solid ability in delivering high quality customer service and establishing/maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships.
• Excellent judgment, analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills. - Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Ability to investigate, analyze and resolve simple to highly complex problems and escalate where necessary, as well as the ability to maintain confidential information.
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• The ability to collaborate with team members and other internal business partners.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and meet deadlines within a telephone queue environment.
• Ability to consistently deliver quality service under the pressures of volume variances in inbound calls, length of calls.
• Typing proficiency required. Prior 10-key and/or Data Entry experience preferred Must be able to do consistent overtime as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF PAYROLL COORDINATOR:
•Process high volume daily timecards and weekly payroll for hourly union employees timely and accurately.
• Work under general supervision from a designated supervisor.
• Perform payroll duties requiring knowledge of standard practices used in the preparation, distribution, and maintenance of payroll and payroll records.
• Manage workflow to ensure all timecards and payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately.
• Prepare special payments, complex pay and payroll deduction calculations ensuring compliance with company policies, union contracts and federal and state regulations.
• Assist employees and management with questions, concerns or requests regarding payroll. This includes properly applying technical knowledge and skills, communicating and listening effectively.
• Reconcile payroll and validate confirmed reports prior to submitting payroll for closing and dispersing.
• Understand proper taxation of all employee payments including employer paid benefits.
• Perform each assigned task, exercising routine methods and mechanics of the job and requesting assistance when unusual circumstances arise.
• Review payroll documents for compliance with policies and procedures.
• Verify accuracy of data entry and computations of withholding tax, deductions, and overtime compensation. - Identify, research, and assist in the resolution of payroll related discrepancies.
• Stay current on regulatory, legal and other payroll developments to foresee and/or address payroll initiatives and issues. - Research and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with employees and departments.
• Process off-cycle check payments according to company policy, union agreements and federal and state regulations. - Accurately calculate and process union retro payments as required.
• Prepare employee documentation for scanning or filing. Ensure records are maintained according to record retention requirements. - Prepare stop payments, void checks, direct deposit reversals and over payment collections in accordance with company, federal, state and union regulations.

• Monday - Friday This job may require working 7-day work weeks for
• 8:00 am - 5:00 pm multiple weeks in a row at a time.
• $13.00 / hour
