SUMMARY OF GRAPHIC TECHNICIAN/DESIGNER:
National event planning and marketing company in Las Vegas, NV is offering career opportunities to experienced trade show Graphic Designers with the ability to carry out the essential duties of this position. This position includes, but is not limited to, the responsibilities and qualifications indicated in this posting.
REQUIREMENTS OF GRAPHIC TECHNICIAN/DESIGNER:
• Demonstrated proficiency with verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use various measuring tools and mathematical proficiency (fractions, decimals).
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
• Perform layout, and production functions using desktop publishing software on the computer (current workload dictates 90% pure computer production, 10% actual creative design).
• Able to work in the production area of the department to facilitate the finishing of graphic signage, i.e., vinyl production, mounting and trimming of digital prints.
• Must have High School Diploma. College degree preferred.
• Operates a Macintosh operating system, PC operating system, Windows NT and with proficiency in software programs: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe In design, and various other operating utilities.
• Applicants will be subject to a written and application examination regarding computer competency.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF GRAPHIC TECHNICIAN/DESIGNER:
• Prepares and produces digital files using state-of-the-art desktop publishing tools to design, edit, and proof documents, which will be used for reproduction on large format digital printers.
• Production work ranges from laying out simple text documents, to the modification of complex existing customer artwork or internally supplied artwork, to designing custom graphics based on internal/external customer direction.
• Periodically, graphic design is produced from customers’ ideas and requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Graphics Department Manager, - Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, or Lead Person.
SCHEDULE & PAY RATE OF GRAPHIC TECHNICIAN/DESIGNER:
• 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
• $14.00 / hour
